The General Practice Leaders’ Forum and Ministry of Health have agreed to work together to improve communication between the two sectors. 

The GPLF invited ministry representatives to its most recent meeting on Wednesday (19 July), after the ministry failed to invite any official GP representatives to a meeting about the future of primary healthcare earlier in the month. 

The ministry is not usually represented at the forum’s meetings. GPLF chair Tim Malloy says the invite to the ministry was in response to the 7 July strategic meeting.
